Likewise a liability insurance policy can also offer protection to a business which leases property or cars to which damage is caused. For many businesses liability insurance is a necessary business cost.

As with all other insurance policies it is always a good idea to shop around. Using a website such as Kanetix insurance comparison will help your company get the most competitive quote for your liability needs.

When choosing any insurance policy it is important to understand what the excess amount will be. This is the amount for which the company will be liable in any claim. For example if the excess is $500 and the overall claim against the company is $3000 the company will be responsible for $500 of the claim. Excess amounts can often be reduced by paying higher premiums. (more...)

While many have been buying new or used vehicles direct from showrooms or dealerships, others have been hiring their vehicles to help themselves in the short term. For example, if a Peterborough-based builder has a job but their van won’t start, it’s no longer a case of having to cancel the project because they can’t get there, as they now go online, search for van hire in Peterborough and www.rentdirectuk.com should come up. Rent a model that will help them to fulfill their duties and continue to earn some money.

The best thing about renting a vehicle is the sheer amount of choice available to you. For instance, and sticking with the theme of a builder, you might have a small project on for a week – maybe doing some interior walls at an office for example – and you don’t need that many materials or tools; so a small van would be the best option. Understanding the employment redundancy legalities

Employment law is perhaps the most complicated to understand for the fact that there are various updates continuously made in the various areas related to this law. Redundancy is one such aspect that needs better understanding. As per the law, any employee can be dismissed on the basis of redundancy however, the reason of redundancy should be genuine and the employer must have taken the decision only because his workforce can be reduced due to a justifiable reason. These justifiable reasons could be termination of the position completely which was previously held by the employee in question, the need to cut costs on account of incurring losses or due to the economic condition, the closing down of the business or the business moving to a different location or introduction of technological advancements and systems that reduce human involvement.

The laws relating to redundancy in the employment law is often considered to be the grey area for the fact that employees can be made redundant when another employee absorbs the job responsibilities of an employee thereby terminating his position in the company. There is also a case when the employer decides to relocate. While there are some employees who have a mobility clause in their employment agreement, there are others who do not. Such employees who are unwilling to move and also don’t have a mobility clause in their agreement are usually made redundant.

The employers who make more than 20 employees redundant within 90 days are considered to have made collective redundancy. These employers are required to consult with employee trade unions, the failure of which will result in the employer paying a compensation which can be up to 90 days of pay. Employment SOS, a specialized division of Martin Kaye dealing with employment law, offers consultation and expert advice of all legal matters relating to redundancy thereby helping the employers and employees with their right claims.
